The Ph.D. Programme

The Ph.D. Programme involves every year:

  • a brief thematic course on general current questions designed on an interdisciplinary basis, hosting both local and  guest speakers (3 credits);
  • four  (4) specialized courses, associated to selected topics relevant for PhD. Candidates’ research profiles scheduled during the first two years (4 credits associated to each course)
  • Specialized seminars (30 hours per year), suggested by each supervisor and hosted by the University of Catania (including research seminars sponsored by one or more Departments, selected teaching programs of the “Scuola Superiore di Catania”, lectures of the School of Specialization for the Legal Professions) or other Italian or foreign universities, Scientific Societies, Research Centers, professional associations or networks.
    The training program optionally includes the attendance of seminars and workshops organized at the University of Venice Ca’ Foscari, by the “Progetto Dottorale di Alta Formazione in Scienze giuridiche” (Doctoral Project of Higher Education in Legal Science) which gather candidates from different Ph.d. Courses associated to the Project.
